Meat Pies & Vegan Pies


To make these pies you must first thaw out some puff pastry and cook the filling on the stove top separately. On the stove top I cooked various vegetables with a tomato sauce, spices and garlic. Lay the pastry out and create cuts on either sides of the dough, making sure to leave the middle solid and untouched. Once filled in the middle begin breading the sides, brush some egg wash, and sprinkle some sesame seeds. 

For the beef pie, saute the beef with tomatoes, onions, garlic, bell peppers, with a tablespoon of tomato sauce or paste. Once cooked fill the middle, braid it and follow the same steps as before. Place in the oven on 300 for 25 minutes or until golden. You can also sprinkle with spices of choice. I like to use paprika for color.
